Apartments for Rent in Coral Gables
This week I thought about the professionals and couples who are relocating to Miami and choose a neighborhood over a tower: you want to land somewhere with a life of its own, in a house with character or a small boutique building, without giving up comfort, light or an easy first month. I reviewed the 17 homes available in Coral Gables between $4,000 and $15,000, and these are my seven picks — from $4,200 to $9,500, every one of them verified by me, with the details that actually matter when you are arriving: furniture, pets, parking, laundry and lease terms.
Landing in Coral Gables: what I tell my clients
Schools. Families in Coral Gables are typically zoned for Coral Gables Preparatory Academy and Coral Gables Senior High, two of the most requested public schools in Miami-Dade, and the University of Miami sits right inside the neighborhood — one of the reasons so much of my faculty and graduate-student work lands here. If you are arriving with children, my guide to the best neighborhoods in Miami for relocating families walks through the school map area by area.
Walkability. Downtown Coral Gables and Miracle Mile are genuinely walkable — restaurants, cafés, galleries, the farmers market and daily errands on foot. The residential streets are quieter and greener: beautiful for morning walks, with most daily life still moving by car.
Drive times. Typical drives from Coral Gables, outside heavy traffic: Brickell about 15–20 minutes, the University of Miami 5–10 minutes, Baptist Hospital about 10 minutes, Miami International Airport about 15 minutes, and the Key Biscayne beaches 20–25 minutes.

Why I picked it for your landing: this is the classic Gables in house form — a 1946 home with a garden, a garage and laundry inside, on the kind of tree-lined street people picture when they decide to move to Miami. It is the gentlest entry point in this edition, and for a soft landing that matters more than square footage.
Ideal for: a couple arriving with a dog or a cat who wants a real house and a yard in Coral Gables, without jumping to big-house prices.

Why I picked it for your landing: a boutique building opened in 2024 at the calm scale of the Gables. When you are relocating, new matters: you arrive, you settle in, and you do not inherit anyone else’s maintenance list during your first months in a new country or a new city.
Ideal for: the professional who wants a brand-new building and an easy arrival, while keeping neighborhood life right outside the door.

Why I picked it for your landing: house-sized space — 2,088 square feet — in a duplex renovated from top to bottom in 2026, with two parking spaces and laundry in the unit. Its price per square foot is the lowest in this edition, and I always flag that when I see it: space is what makes a landing feel calm.
Ideal for: a remote worker or a couple who needs a real home office and room to breathe from day one.

Why I picked it for your landing: it arrives solved. Fully furnished, three bedrooms, more than 3,100 square feet and parking for four cars in South Gables — the kind of home where an executive relocation or a family move starts on the right foot, without a single furniture run in your first week.
Ideal for: a family or an executive on a corporate move who needs to land now, with everything already in place.

Why I picked it for your landing: new-tower living without leaving the Gables — a 2026 building with full amenities and the ease of being the first to live in it, right in the corporate heart of Coral Gables. You get the services of a tower and the streets of the Gables at your door.
Ideal for: the executive who prioritizes amenities and zero maintenance, with Coral Gables at walking distance.

Why I picked it for your landing: a family house with four bedrooms, remodeled throughout and already furnished, in Shenandoah — the residential neighborhood right next to Coral Gables, with the same tree-lined calm and a slightly easier price for the space you get. It was just listed, and homes like this do not sit for long.
Ideal for: a family arriving with children who needs four real bedrooms and a house that is ready the day you land.

Why I picked it for your landing: this is not just another house. It is a 1926 Spanish Colonial residence — a former consular home — with the presence that only a century of well-kept history gives a place. Some of my clients fall for Miami in a home exactly like this one.
Ideal for: who wants to land in a home with identity and presence, not a brand-new box.
